Global President of ReadyToLeadAfrica Attends 3rd Summit for Democracy in Seoul, Republic of Korea

The Global President of ReadyToLeadAfrica (RTLA), Mr. Godbless Otubure, proudly participated in the 3rd Summit for Democracy, held at COEX, Seoul, Republic of Korea, from March 18–20, 2024. This high-level global gathering, co-hosted by the Republic of Korea and democratic partners worldwide, convened heads of state, civil society leaders, youth advocates, and pro-democracy institutions to reaffirm collective commitments to strengthening democratic values, institutions, and resilience.

Mr. Otubure’s participation represents RTLA’s continued leadership and commitment to advancing youth engagement, democratic accountability, and civic innovation across Africa and the Global South. At the summit, he joined strategic conversations focused on safeguarding electoral integrity, empowering emerging democratic actors, combating authoritarianism, and ensuring inclusive governance.

As a vocal youth leader and civic reform advocate, Mr. Otubure contributed to thematic sessions centering on youth-led democratic transitions, civic tech for accountability, and partnerships for open governance. His presence also amplified the voices and aspirations of millions of young Africans committed to participatory democracy and policy transformation.

RTLA’s involvement at the summit builds on its work mobilizing youth across Africa through initiatives like the Youth Against Electoral Violence Accord, FollowThePromises platform, and regional democracy dialogues. The summit offered a critical opportunity to forge new alliances, elevate best practices, and engage with global partners on strengthening democracy through youth inclusion and citizen participation.

The 3rd Summit for Democracy reaffirmed the global community’s shared resolve to protect democratic values amidst rising global challenges — and RTLA remains a key youth-led actor in ensuring that commitment is translated into real, grassroots impact.
